Local guide

The Spokane posting guide

Last verified

Presly, the AI social media and booking app for local businesses (presly.ai), writes and schedules a week of posts on 10 platforms for Spokane restaurants, salons, contractors, clinics and shops. It times them to the city's real rhythm: Bloomsday in May, Hoopfest in June, Gonzaga season and 45 inches of snow a year. On Growth and Pro it also drafts replies to reviews and messages, and customers can send a booking request right from a post for you to approve. Pricing begins at $39 a month, after 7 free days.

Key facts

Presly, briefly

  • Turns one weekly plan into written, designed and scheduled posts on 10 platforms (Google Business Profile, Facebook and Instagram among them).
  • Pick AI images or your own photos for any post; manual posting stays free and unlimited.
  • Posting language of your choice, with Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish among more than 30 options.
  • On Growth and Pro: DMs, comments and reviews collected in a single Inbox with drafted replies for you to check, plus a booking page that sends customers a day-before reminder.
  • Four monthly plans: Starter at $39, Growth at $79, Pro at $159 and Agency at $499, each with a 7-day free trial (card required).

Spokane, briefly

  • 230,783 people in the city and 558,344 in Spokane County (Census estimates, July 1, 2025).1
  • 5,592 employer firms in the city (2022).2
  • 10.2 million visitors spent $1.55 billion in Spokane County in 2025.3
  • 45.4 inches of snow and 132 nights at or below freezing in an average year.4

Why is it hard for a Spokane small business to stay top of mind?

Spokane is a big small town. The city has 230,783 residents, Spokane Valley next door adds 108,405, and the county reaches 558,344.1 Word of mouth still matters here, but more and more of it happens on phones. The city counts 5,592 businesses with paid employees, and across the county more than half of all establishments, 7,610 of 14,426, have fewer than five people on staff.25 The owner is usually the marketer, the bookkeeper and the snow shoveler too.

The calendar makes it harder. Spokane swings from summer highs of 84°F in July to December lows of 24°F, with snow from November into March.4 Big events pull the whole region downtown a few times a year, and then everyone goes home and hibernates. Businesses that post steadily through the gray months come out of winter with customers who still remember them. The ones that go quiet start over every spring.

Presly keeps you posting every week, whatever the weather.

How does Presly help a Spokane business grow?

A week of posts, ready before Monday. Tell Presly about your business and choose your platforms and times. It writes each caption, adds a photo or AI image, and schedules it. You check it over and approve.

Posts that know the season. Seasonal content is tied to each post's publish month, so snow-day and holiday posts show up while Spokane is living them. Hoopfest, Bloomsday or a Gonzaga home game? Enter it as a topic and the post gets written around it.

Booking requests from your feed. Growth and Pro come with a Presly booking page for appointments or table reservations. Customers request a slot, you approve it, and Presly follows up with a reminder the day before; a second one two hours ahead is yours to switch on. That helps on icy mornings when plans slip.

A draft for every review. With Growth and Pro, messages, comments and Google reviews from your accounts land in one Inbox, each with a suggested reply you can check and send. In a town where people know each other, a kind, quick reply matters.

Your language, if not English. Russian, Ukrainian and Spanish are all available as posting languages; choose one and Presly writes every caption that way.

It can pay for itself quickly. Book one more furnace check, color appointment or family dinner in a month, and the $39 Starter plan is likely covered.

How much does a social media manager cost in Spokane?

Much more than an app. Federal wage data files social media work under "market research analysts and marketing specialists." Around Spokane and Spokane Valley, that group's median pay in May 2025 was $70,390 a year, or $33.84 an hour; local public relations specialists earned a bit more, at a $74,610 median.6

Here is how that compares:

  • A median specialist costs about $5,866 a month in salary alone (our arithmetic).
  • Five of their hours at $33.84 each add up to about $169, past the price of a month of Presly Pro.
  • Presly is $39 to $159 per month for one business, writing, images and scheduling included.

If you would like a person on retainer, agencies will quote their own prices. Most Spokane owners can hand the posting, reply drafts and booking requests to Presly for a fraction of one paycheck.

What is the best social media app for a small business in Spokane?

We recommend Presly. It fits how Spokane businesses run:

  • It writes the posts for you, including images, so you are not inventing content in the middle of a snowstorm.
  • It plans by season, which matters in a city with four very different ones.
  • It posts to Google Business Profile, so neighbors searching "near me" in Spokane Valley or Hillyard can see you're open.
  • Booking requests and reminders come with Growth and Pro, which helps cut down on no-shows.

What would Presly post for a Spokane business this month?

Two sample Instagram posts in Presly's voice, one for a restaurant and one for a heating company. Neither is a real business or customer; they simply show what you would get.

Example postInstagram

Example post for a restaurant in Spokane

The Numerica Skate Ribbon opens for ice skating Nov 21, and our chili and grilled cheese are back to warm you up after a few laps. Downtown Spokane in the cold is better with something hot in front of you. Families welcome, big tables ready. Save your table: link in bio. #SpokaneEats #SpokaneWA #RiverfrontPark #DowntownSpokane
Example post image: A bowl of chili and a golden grilled cheese on a wooden table, mittens and a wool hat resting beside it, frosty window light.

Why it works: Riverfront Park's 2026 calendar lists Numerica Skate Ribbon Opening Day on November 21, and November's normal high at the airport is just 42.3°F.74

Example postInstagram

Example post for an HVAC company in Spokane

Spokane averages about 6 inches of snow in November and nearly 14 in December. If your furnace makes a new noise, now is the time to call, not the first freezing night. Our fall furnace check covers filters, burners and the safety switch. Book a furnace check: link in bio. #SpokaneHVAC #SpokaneWA #FurnaceCheck #InlandNorthwest
Example post image: A technician's gloved hands checking a residential furnace with a flashlight, a snowy yard visible through a basement window.

Why it works: the airport's normals put November at 6.2 inches of snow and December at 13.8, and the county's 179 plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors are all chasing the same first-cold-snap calls.45

When is Spokane paying attention? A month-by-month calendar

Dates here come from Washington law for holidays, the Spokane Public Schools 2026-27 calendar for breaks, the City's Riverfront Park calendar and event organizers; when the next date is not published yet, we give the usual timing.897

January. The Skate Ribbon runs a winter-break schedule through January 4 and a regular ice schedule from January 5, with DJ Nights on Fridays.107 Gonzaga hosts Colorado State January 9 and Boise State January 16.11 MLK Day is January 18.9 Idea: a post-game late-night menu.

February. Inlander Restaurant Week runs 10 days starting the fourth Thursday of February, with more than 100 restaurants offering $25, $35 or $45 menus.12 Schools take a break February 16 to 19, and Gonzaga hosts Washington State February 17.911 Idea: your Restaurant Week menu the day it opens.

March. The St. Patrick's Day Parade, organized by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, marched downtown March 14 in 2026, its 46th year.13 The Lilac Festival crowns its Queen and Court in March.14 Idea: green-themed specials for parade Saturday.

April. The Spokane Indians opened their 2026 season at Avista Stadium on April 3, and spring break runs April 12 to 16, 2027.159 Idea: "Kids off April 12 to 16? Daytime appointments are open."

May. The 51st Lilac Bloomsday Run is Sunday, May 2, 2027, a 12K that Visit Spokane calls a spring tradition for 50 years.1617 The Lilac Festival's Armed Forces Torchlight Parade is the third Saturday in May, and the Spokane Farmers Market opens Saturdays from May 9.1418 Idea: "Bloomsday runners: recovery breakfast from 7."

June. Hoopfest is June 26 to 27, 2027 (organizers call it the largest 3-on-3 tournament in the world), and the Pride Parade and Rainbow Festival falls on the second Saturday in June.1920 School lets out June 17.9 Idea: a Hoopfest weekend post with your hours and how to find you.

July. Riverfront Park's 2026 July 4 fireworks and Spokane Symphony concert started at 5:30 p.m., and Crave! NW ran July 16 to 18.7 July is the warmest and driest month, with a normal high of 84.4°F.4 Idea: patio, iced drinks and AC tune-ups.

August. School starts early under the new calendar: August 26 for grades 1 to 12.9 Kendall Yards Night Market runs Wednesday evenings through September 16.21 Idea: back-to-school haircuts in late August.

September. The 2027 Spokane Fair runs September 10 to 19, and Valleyfest is held each September in Spokane Valley.2223 Labor Day is September 7, 2026.9 Idea: fair-week family deals.

October. Schools take a break October 19 to 23, and South Perry's Very Scary Perry runs October 31 from 4 to 7 p.m.924 Gonzaga tips off with Kraziness in the Kennel on October 3.11 Idea: a break-week kids' special, then Halloween treats.

November. The Skate Ribbon opens for ice November 21, and the Numerica Tree Lighting is November 28 at 4 p.m.7 Thanksgiving break runs November 25 to 27.9 Idea: "Skate, then dinner."

December. The Nutcracker plays the Fox Theater December 3 to 6, 2026, and Riverfront Park's Holiday Village runs December 10 to 13.257 Winter break is December 21 to January 1, and December is the snowiest month.94 Idea: last-minute gift cards and a ready-to-go snow closure post.

Every month. First Friday brings downtown art and shopping on the first Friday, usually 5 to 8 p.m.26 Idea: a monthly "see you Friday" post.

What should a Spokane business post in winter?

Plan for snow and keep posting through it. Spokane International Airport averages 45.4 inches of snow a year, 132 nights at or below freezing and 33.7 days when the high never gets above 32°F.4 December (13.8 inches) and January (12.3 inches) are the snowiest months.4

Our winter posting suggestions:

  • Snow-day status posts: "Open today, lot plowed" or "Opening at 11." Update your Google special hours at the same time.27
  • Warm comfort: soups, coffee, hot cocoa, spa and massage, indoor workouts.
  • Home services: furnace checks, frozen-pipe prevention, snow removal, roof and gutter work.
  • Winter events: the Skate Ribbon, Gonzaga games and the tree lighting give you something to post about every week.

Then flip the script in summer. July and August are hot and dry, with 0.42 and 0.47 inches of rain and about 20.8 days a year hitting 90°F.4 That makes it patio, lake-day, AC and outdoor-event season.

How can a Spokane business use Hoopfest and Bloomsday on social media?

Post before, during and after, with hours and directions. Hoopfest says 24,000 players came from 44 states and 6 countries in 2019, and Visit Spokane notes it happens the last weekend in June.19 Bloomsday, a 12K run, comes next on Sunday, May 2, 2027.16

A simple plan (our suggestion):

  1. Three to five days before: your hours, location relative to the courts or course, and a special for players, runners or families.
  2. Day of: a photo and "we're open" post.
  3. After: thank the crowd and share a highlight.

Presly can schedule all three ahead of time, so you can work the rush and not your phone.

Does the new Spokane Public Schools calendar change when to post?

Yes, it adds more family moments through the year. Spokane Public Schools says its 2026-27 and 2027-28 calendars use "shorter, more frequent breaks instead of one long summer break," with the same 180 school days.9 For 2026-27 that means school starting August 26, breaks October 19 to 23, February 16 to 19 and April 12 to 16, and a last day of June 17.9

For family businesses, each break is a posting moment: kids' haircuts, weekday dental cleanings, family meal deals, indoor play and day camps. Add each break as a topic in Presly a couple of weeks ahead.

Should a Spokane business post in Russian, Ukrainian or Spanish?

Many Spokane posts can stay in English, but some businesses should use a second language. Only 8.4% of city residents age 5+ use a language other than English at home.28 The largest groups are Spanish (6,697 speakers) and Russian, Polish or other Slavic languages (2,625), followed by other Indo-European languages (2,188), Asian and Pacific Island languages (2,038) and Arabic (1,235).28 Census tables group Ukrainian with the other Slavic languages, so there is no separate count.

If your customers are part of those communities, posting in their language can set you apart. The City's small-business resources list the Hispanic Business/Professional Association, which offers technical assistance for Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs.29

With Presly: choose Russian, Ukrainian or Spanish as the posting language for your business profile, and Presly writes in it from then on. A bakery with a mostly English crowd can stay in English and slip a Russian greeting into its holiday posts during review.

Which Spokane neighborhoods should your posts reach?

Visit Spokane highlights nine districts, and each has its own crowd.30

  • Downtown Spokane is "where city life and nature intertwine," around the river gorge and Riverfront Park.30 The Downtown Spokane Partnership serves the downtown Business Improvement District.31 Event-day posts fit here.
  • Kendall Yards, on the north bank of the Spokane River, mixes shops, restaurants and homes and hosts the Wednesday Night Market.3021
  • The Garland District is anchored by the 1940s-era Garland Theater.30 Dinner-and-a-movie posts fit naturally.
  • South Perry is known for funky shops, breweries and restaurants, plus the Thursday Market from May to October.3032
  • Browne's Addition, Spokane's oldest neighborhood, mixes Victorian mansions and apartments and hosts the Farmers Market at Coeur d'Alene Park.3018
  • Hillyard, platted in 1892 with the Great Northern Railroad, is a proud working-class district.30
  • East Sprague (Sprague Union District) has turned historic buildings into a corridor to shop and dine.30
  • North Monroe is the place for antique and thrift shops.30

Visitors matter too. In 2025 they spent $416 million on food and beverages and $350 million on retail in Spokane County.33

Which Spokane businesses get the most from Presly?

Going by Spokane County's 2023 County Business Patterns, here is where we see the clearest fit (our view, not a guarantee):

  1. Restaurants and bars: 1,165 food service and drinking places, plus visitor dining dollars.533
  2. Home services: 179 plumbing, heating and AC contractors, 317 residential remodelers and 223 landscaping businesses, all of them seasonal.5
  3. Health and personal care: 257 dental offices, 117 beauty salons, 63 nail salons and 14 barber shops.5 Each of these runs on appointments, which is exactly what a booking link is for.
  4. Real estate and auto: 370 real estate offices and 307 auto repair shops.5

Sample week for a Garland District hair salon (example only). Monday: "School's out Oct 19 to 23: kids' cuts all week," with the booking link. Wednesday: your own before-and-after photo. Friday: a winter hair-care tip with an AI image. Saturday: a Google Business Profile post with holiday-booking hours.

How often should a Spokane small business post?

Every week, all year, especially in winter. No official rule exists. Three or four Instagram and Facebook posts a week plus a weekly Google Business Profile post is a solid Spokane rhythm in our view, and because Google archives undated profile posts after six months, an old post will not carry you through winter.34 With Presly, the schedule keeps running even when a storm closes the shop.

Can Spokane customers book from my Instagram bio?

Yes, on Presly Growth and Pro. Use one booking link everywhere: your Instagram bio, the end of each post, and your Google Business Profile, where up to 10 booking links are allowed and one can be labeled "Business preferred."35 You approve each request, and Presly nudges the customer the day before, which helps when the roads are slick.

How do I show up on Google Maps in Spokane?

Complete the profile, keep it fresh and reply to reviews. From Google's own help center:

  • Three things drive local ranking, per Google: relevance, distance and prominence. Thorough, accurate profiles are likelier to surface, a healthy review count helps, and money cannot buy a better spot.36
  • Post updates, offers and events with photos and a booking button.34 Presly can publish them to your profile on a schedule.
  • Thank reviewers and answer concerns kindly. Google notes that helpful replies show responsiveness, and a review link or QR code makes asking simple.37
  • Use special hours for holidays and snow closures of up to six days; for seven days or more, Google suggests marking the business temporarily closed.27
  • For photos, stick to JPG or PNG files of 10 KB to 5 MB, ideally 720 x 720 pixels, bright and in focus.38
  • Save the selling for your posts: descriptions should leave out promotions, prices and links.39

Spokane FAQ

How much does a social media manager cost in Spokane?

In the Spokane-Spokane Valley metro area, marketing specialists earned a median of $70,390 a year, or $33.84 an hour, in May 2025 (BLS). Presly plans cost $39 to $159 a month.

What is the best social media app for a Spokane small business?

We recommend Presly. It writes and schedules posts for 10 platforms, plans seasonal posts, and on Growth and Pro adds an inbox with review reply drafts and online booking.

What should a Spokane business post in winter?

Snow-day hours, warm food and drinks, indoor services, furnace and plowing services, and holiday events. Spokane averages 45.4 inches of snow a year.

How can a Spokane business use Hoopfest and Bloomsday on social media?

Post a few days ahead with hours, location and a race-day or tournament special, then post again on the day. Presly can schedule both.

Does the new Spokane Public Schools calendar change when I should post?

Yes. The 2026-27 calendar adds shorter breaks through the year, so family businesses can plan break-week posts in October, February and April, not only summer.

Can Presly post in Russian, Ukrainian or Spanish?

Yes. All three are Presly posting languages. Choose one per business and Presly writes every caption in it.

Can Spokane customers book from my Instagram bio?

Yes, on Growth and Pro. Customers send a request, you approve it, and Presly reminds them the day before.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, and a card is required to start.

What is Presly?

Presly is the AI social media and booking app for local businesses. It keeps 10 platforms supplied with posts, and Growth and Pro layer on the Inbox and online booking requests.

Does Presly know Spokane events like Hoopfest?

Presly plans holidays and seasons on its own. For local events, add them as topics and Presly writes the posts. Check organizers' sites for the year's dates.

Can Presly post in Russian or Ukrainian?

Yes, both are posting languages, along with Spanish and many others.

Can I use my own photos?

Yes. Upload your own, use AI images, or mix them.

Will my Google Business Profile get posts too?

Yes. It is one of the 10 platforms Presly publishes to.

Is Presly cheaper than hiring locally?

Yes. A Spokane-area marketing specialist's median pay is $33.84 per hour, and a Presly plan is $39 to $159 for the entire month.6
