Presly, the AI social media and booking app for local businesses (presly.ai), fills your calendar seven days at a time on 10 platforms, in English or in whatever language your customers grew up speaking. In a city with 108,420 employer firms, more than a million no-payroll businesses across the county and a feed culture built on food, fashion and fresh fades, that steady output is how an LA shop stays visible. Growth and Pro bring DMs and reviews into a shared Inbox where AI drafts each reply, and a link in your bio turns a curious follower into a booking request. Plans start at $39 a month after a 7-day free trial.

About Los Angeles

  • 3,869,089 residents in the city and 9,694,934 in Los Angeles County (July 1, 2025).1
  • 108,420 employer firms in the city (2022) and 1,128,124 nonemployer businesses in the county (2023).23
  • 56.4% of residents age 5+ speak a language other than English at home.4
  • 49.5 million visitors came to LA County in 2025.5
  • A normal August high of 84.0°F downtown and zero nights a year at freezing.6

Why is it hard for a Los Angeles small business to get noticed?

LA's competition is huge, and nearly all of it is small. The city of Los Angeles counts 108,420 businesses with paid employees, and those firms employ 1,741,605 people.2 Then add the county's 1,128,124 nonemployer businesses: the solo nail tech, the taco truck, the mobile groomer, the one-chair barber.3 In LA County, 194,117 of the 304,988 establishments with a payroll have fewer than five employees, about 63.6% (our arithmetic).7 Your rivals aren't chains. They're people just like you, posting from the back room between customers.

The audience is just as crowded. Nearly 3.9 million people live in the city and 9.7 million in the county, and Los Angeles Tourism counted 49.5 million visitors in 2025, who generated $42.6 billion in business sales.15 Visitors scroll Instagram to decide where to eat. Locals check Google Maps before they book a haircut. A shop that posts twice in October and vanishes until February loses both.

LA customers don't all read the same language, either. More than half of residents age 5+ speak something other than English at home, and a quarter of everyone age 5+ says they speak English less than "very well."4 A caption in the right language isn't a nice extra here. It's often the reason someone stops scrolling.

What does Presly do for a Los Angeles business?

It turns social media from a nightly chore into something that just happens. You describe your business once: what you sell, who walks in, which neighborhoods you serve. Presly then plans the week, writes every caption, pairs each one with an AI image or a photo you uploaded, and publishes on schedule to up to 10 platforms. Posts you write by hand never cost credits, so your own shot of today's special can go up any time.

The calendar does the remembering for you. A post's season comes from the month it publishes, so December gets holiday hours and the first warm weekend gets the patio. Local moments such as the Hollywood Christmas Parade or Nisei Week go in as topics you add, and Presly writes around them.

Captions in your customers' language. Set a posting language for the business once; from then on, captions arrive in it. A Boyle Heights barber can post in Spanish, a Koreatown spa in Korean, a Historic Filipinotown bakery in Tagalog.

Booking from the feed. On Growth and Pro you get a booking page: services for salons and clinics, tables for restaurants (guests choose a date, a time and how many are coming). Every booking starts as a request. Accept it yourself or turn on auto-confirm, and the customer hears from Presly the day before. If no-shows bite, switch on the optional 2-hour reminder.

Replies half written. Growth and Pro pull comments, DMs and Google reviews into one Inbox. Each one has an AI draft next to it. Tweak a word or two, then send it yourself.

It can pay for itself fast. With LA prices for a haircut, a facial or a dinner for four, one extra booking a month probably covers the $39 Starter plan.

Which language should a Los Angeles business post in?

Start with who walks through your door, because in LA that answer varies block by block. Los Angeles talks in dozens of languages: 56.4% of residents age 5 and older speak a language other than English at home, and 35.7% of residents were born abroad.4 The mix is wide, not just big.

Here is what the Census counts among LA city residents age 5+:

  • Spanish: 1,439,364 speakers, 39.3% of the age 5+ population. Of them, 668,719 speak English less than "very well."4
  • Other Indo-European languages: 192,760 speakers combined, 5.3%.8 The more detailed 2024 one-year table breaks out Armenian (89,879 speakers) and Persian, including Farsi and Dari (52,292).9
  • Tagalog, including Filipino: 85,207.8
  • Korean: 84,148, and 51,723 of them speak English less than "very well."8
  • Chinese, including Mandarin and Cantonese: 62,141.8
  • Russian, Polish or other Slavic languages: 46,460; Vietnamese: 18,365; Arabic: 16,805.8

By ethnicity and race, the city is 47.2% Hispanic or Latino, and 14.3% of residents identify as Asian alone or in combination.10

What this means for your feed. A Koreatown business with mostly Korean-speaking regulars will likely get more taps from Korean captions than English ones. A Pico-Union panadería may do best in Spanish. A Westside dental office with a mixed crowd might keep English as the main language and drop in a Spanish or Tagalog line by hand when it checks the opening week.

How Presly handles it. Each business profile carries a single posting language, and every draft comes out in it. Spanish, Korean, Tagalog/Filipino, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian, Arabic and Hindi are all on the list of 30-plus. If you run two locations with different crowds, each business profile can have its own language.

How much does a social media manager cost in Los Angeles?

A few hours of a local marketer costs more than Presly. Federal wage surveys fold social media work into "market research analysts and marketing specialists." For the greater LA metro (Los Angeles, Long Beach and Anaheim), that group's May 2025 median sat at $39.90 per hour, or $82,990 per year.11 PR specialists there came in at a $79,860 median.11

Side by side:

  • Divide the median salary by twelve and one specialist runs roughly $6,916 monthly, payroll taxes and benefits not included (our arithmetic).
  • Book that specialist for a single half day, four hours at $39.90, and the bill is $159.60 (our arithmetic), sixty cents past Presly Pro's monthly price.
  • One LA business on Presly pays between $39 and $159 monthly, with captions, images and scheduling included and, from Growth up, reply drafts and booking.

Agencies price by quote, so collect a few if a human account manager matters to you. A lone taquería, lash studio or chiropractor can hand Presly the weekly grind for a sliver of one LA paycheck.

What is the best social media app for a Los Angeles small business?

We recommend Presly. It fits how LA businesses actually work:

  • It writes in the language your customers read. With 1.44 million Spanish speakers, 85,207 Tagalog speakers and 84,148 Korean speakers in the city, a one-language feed misses people.48
  • It never starts from a blank page. Captions, hashtags and images come ready, which matters in a city where Instagram is often the first impression.
  • It covers Google Business Profile too, so someone searching "barber near me" in Highland Park sees recent posts, not a profile that went quiet in spring.
  • It brings in bookings. On Growth and Pro, a post can end with a booking link, and the request lands with you to accept.

Should a Los Angeles restaurant or salon hire an agency or use an app?

For most small LA shops, the app is the better buy. An agency means a retainer and a contact person. Doing it yourself means free software and lost evenings. Presly sits in the middle: finished posts each week, plus reply drafts and booking requests in the same place.

What would Presly post for a Los Angeles business this holiday season?

Two made-up posts, written the way Presly writes, for two kinds of shops LA has thousands of. The businesses and customers in them aren't real.

Example post for a Thai restaurant in Los Angeles

The Hollywood Christmas Parade takes over Hollywood Blvd this Sunday, Nov 29. When the last float rolls by, keep heading east to Thai Town: steaming boat noodles, khao soi and mango sticky rice, served fast for parade crowds. Long tables are set for the whole group. Example post image: A long wooden table seen from above with bowls of boat noodles and khao soi, a plate of mango sticky rice and glasses of Thai iced tea, warm string lights glowing in the window behind.

Why it works: the organizers have set the 2026 Hollywood Christmas Parade for Sunday, November 29, a tradition dating to 1928, and Discover Los Angeles describes a route that starts on Hollywood Boulevard.1213 Thai Town sits on the same boulevard between Normandie and Western Avenues, and LA County has 8,214 full-service restaurants competing for that post-parade appetite.147

Example post for a barber shop in Los Angeles (posting language: Spanish)

LAUSD winter break starts Monday, December 21. Before the Christmas photos and year-end dinners, come in for a fresh fade: cuts for kids and adults, designs and beard trims. December Saturdays fill up first. Book your appointment: link in bio.

Shown in English. Presly posts it in Spanish.

Example post image: A crisp skin fade seen from behind and slightly to the side, sharp neckline and clean part, the client seated in a classic barber chair with soft holiday lights blurred in the background.

Why it works: LAUSD's 2026-27 calendar puts winter recess at December 21, 2026, through January 8, 2027, so families plan cuts in the days before.15 The city has 1,439,364 Spanish speakers age 5+, and 668,719 of them speak English less than "very well," which makes a Spanish caption the one many neighbors will act on.4 LA County CBP data count 175 barber shops with paid staff, before you add the many solo chairs in the county's nonemployer count.73

What does the Los Angeles year look like, month by month?

Holiday dates follow California's state holiday list and the LAUSD 2026-27 instructional calendar; event dates come from organizers, the City of Los Angeles and Discover Los Angeles.1615 Where a 2026-27 date has not been posted, we give the usual timing.

How does Los Angeles weather shape what you post?

LA's climate lets you sell outdoor moments almost all year, with a short rainy stretch to plan for. Based on 1991-2020 normals at the Downtown Los Angeles/USC station:6

  • Mild winters: January's normal high is 68.0°F and December's is 67.4°F, and the station averages zero nights at or below freezing. Patio and rooftop posts still work in winter.
  • Rain is concentrated: 9.41 of the year's 14.25 inches fall from December through February, about two thirds (our arithmetic), and only 21.4 days a year bring a tenth of an inch or more. Keep a quick "we're open and dry inside" post ready for those days, and set Google special hours if you close early.30
  • Late-summer heat: August averages 84.0°F and September 83.0°F, with 25.6 days a year reaching 90°F. Iced drinks, AC tune-ups, cool-down facials and evening hours fit here.
  • Bone-dry summers: July averages 0.02 inches of rain and August 0.00. That is prime time for outdoor dining, events and photo shoots.

Because a post's season follows its publish date, the soup-and-umbrella post lands in a wet February, never in a dry August.

Which Los Angeles neighborhoods should your posts speak to?

The City of Los Angeles Tourism Department highlights a set of cultural neighborhoods, and many of them are also some of LA's busiest small-business corridors.14

  • Koreatown: a "3-square-mile neighborhood with restaurants, nightlife, trendy hotels and venues."14 Late-night food, karaoke, spas and beauty services all compete here, often in Korean.
  • Thai Town: described by the City as the only officially recognized Thai town in the United States, on Hollywood Boulevard between Normandie and Western.14 Food posts and festival-week specials fit.
  • Little Armenia: in East Hollywood, with restaurants, shops and cultural sites.14
  • Historic Filipinotown: near Echo Park and Silver Lake, mixing old and new restaurants, cafes and lounges.14 Tagalog captions can reach a loyal local crowd.
  • Little Tokyo: established in the late 1800s and home to more than 400 small businesses, restaurants and shops.14 Nisei Week each August is its big moment.27
  • Boyle Heights and Mariachi Plaza: mariachis have performed at the plaza since the 1930s.14 Spanish-first feeds feel natural here.
  • Olvera Street and El Pueblo: a Mexican marketplace that opened on Easter Sunday in 1930.14
  • Leimert Park Village: recognized as a hub for African American arts and culture.14
  • Sawtelle Japantown and Little Ethiopia: a Westside strip of shops and restaurants, and a Fairfax Avenue stretch of Ethiopian restaurants, galleries and shops.14

Which Los Angeles businesses get the most out of Presly?

Going by Los Angeles County's 2023 County Business Patterns, these are the groups we think gain the most. It's our opinion, not a promised outcome:

  1. Restaurants, cafes and bars: 23,693 food service and drinking places, including 8,214 full-service restaurants, 9,402 limited-service spots and 3,726 snack and beverage bars.7 Food is LA's most photographed product.
  2. Beauty and grooming: 2,656 beauty salons, 1,909 nail salons, 1,148 other personal care shops such as day spas, and 175 barber shops.7 These businesses live on repeat visits, fresh photos and booking links.
  3. Health practices: 6,420 dental offices, 1,605 physical and occupational therapy offices and 1,075 chiropractors.7 Useful posts and online booking make a practice easy to choose.
  4. Home services: 10,621 specialty trade contractors, 3,775 residential remodelers, 2,765 plumbing and HVAC firms and 1,300 landscapers.7 Seasonal reminders can bring in calls.
  5. Fitness and pets: 1,283 fitness centers and 685 pet care businesses.7

Sample week for a Koreatown nail salon (example only). Tuesday: a Korean caption about winter gel sets, booking link at the end. Thursday: your own close-up of glossy burgundy tips. Saturday morning: a Google Business Profile update with extended pre-Christmas hours. Sunday night: thank-you drafts for each new Google review sit in the Inbox, waiting for you to read and send.

How often should a Los Angeles small business post?

Every week, without gaps. Nobody publishes an official target. Here's our LA rhythm: Instagram and Facebook three, four or five times weekly, and Google Business Profile once. Google archives profile posts once they turn six months old, unless you gave them start and end dates, so a spring promo does nothing for you in December.31 Presly keeps posting through Thanksgiving week, when you have no time to.

Can Los Angeles customers book from my Instagram bio?

Yes, once you're on Growth or Pro. Your booking page gets a short link. Drop it in the Instagram bio, end captions with it, and paste it into the Bookings field on Google, where a profile can hold as many as 10 booking links with one flagged "Business preferred."32 Followers choose a slot and submit. Nothing is final until you accept, unless auto-confirm is on. Customers get a day-before reminder, plus a 2-hour reminder if you turn it on. A Koreatown BBQ spot can take table requests the same way, with party size attached.

How do I rank on Google Maps in Los Angeles?

A full profile, fresh posts and answered reviews do most of the work. Here's what Google's help center says, in owner terms:

  • Ranking rests on relevance, distance and prominence. Accurate, complete details raise your odds, review volume and stars count, and paying Google won't move you up.33
  • Updates, offers and events can each carry media and a Book or Call button.31 Presly can keep that feed moving weekly.
  • Thoughtful replies to reviewers show you're listening; printing your review QR code by the register helps collect more.34
  • Enter holiday hours before Thanksgiving week, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, even when nothing changes.30
  • Photos should be sharp JPG or PNG files from 10 KB up to 5 MB, with 720 x 720 pixels as Google's suggested size.35
  • The description box is for facts about the business. Google doesn't want prices, links or a sales pitch there.36

Los Angeles FAQ

How much does a social media manager cost in Los Angeles?

What is the best social media tool for a Los Angeles small business?

We recommend Presly. It writes and schedules posts on 10 platforms in the language your customers read, and Growth and Pro add an inbox with reply drafts and online booking.

Should a Los Angeles restaurant or salon hire an agency or use an app?

For most small LA shops, an app. Presly handles the writing, images and scheduling for $39 to $159 a month, far below a local specialist's pay.

Which language should a Los Angeles business post in?

The one your regulars use. 56.4% of LA residents age 5+ speak a language other than English at home. Presly can post in Spanish, Korean, Tagalog, Chinese, Vietnamese and 30-plus others.

What LA moments should I post about this winter?

The Hollywood Christmas Parade on Nov 29, L.A. Zoo Lights from Nov 20, LAUSD winter recess from Dec 21 and the Rose Parade on Jan 1, 2027 are all strong hooks.

How often should a Los Angeles business post?

We suggest three to five posts a week on Instagram and Facebook plus one Google Business Profile post each week. Presly keeps that pace for you.

Can Los Angeles customers book from my Instagram bio?

Yes, on Growth and Pro. A customer sends a booking request, you accept it or set auto-confirm, and Presly reminds them the day before.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan includes a 7-day free trial. A card is required to start.

What is Presly?

An app for local businesses that uses AI to write, design and publish social posts across 10 platforms. From the Growth plan up, it also drafts replies to reviews and messages and takes online booking requests.

Can Presly post in Korean, Tagalog or Spanish?

All three are available. Choose one per business and the captions follow.

Does Presly know about the Hollywood Christmas Parade or Nisei Week?

Seasons and major holidays come preloaded. Type an LA event in as a topic and the post gets built around it; check the current date with the organizer before you do.

Can I mix my own photos with AI images?

Sure. Mix uploads and AI images however you like; posts you create manually are free.

Does it publish to Google Maps?

It does, through your Google Business Profile, one of the 10 supported platforms.

Is Presly cheaper than hiring in Los Angeles?

By a wide margin. Four hours of a median LA marketing specialist's time costs about $159.60, more than a month of Presly Pro.11
