The River Walk lights switch on with the Ford Holiday River Parade on Friday, Nov 27, and they stay up into early January. The Denver posting guide

Last verified

Presly, the AI social media and booking app for local businesses (presly.ai), turns a short description of your Denver shop into a full calendar of captions, images and scheduled posts across 10 platforms, so a green chile counter on Federal, a Highlands nail bar or a Montbello roofer stays visible without a nightly writing session. Denver runs on an unusual calendar. Sixteen days of the National Western Stock Show fill January, March brings the deepest snow, and eight Broncos home dates decide how fall weekends go. Presly keeps posting through every stretch on autopilot. Growth and Pro gather reviews and DMs into one Inbox with a suggested answer for each, and give customers a link to send booking requests. A Presly plan costs $39 a month or more once a 7-day free trial ends.

Key facts

  • Growth and Pro include the Inbox, where every comment, message and review arrives with an editable draft answer, plus booking requests for services or restaurant tables.

Denver in brief

  • 740,613 residents in the consolidated city and county on July 1, 2025, about 3.5% more than the April 2020 base of 715,509 (our arithmetic).1
  • 22,135 employer firms in the city (2022) and 82,908 no-payroll businesses in Denver County (2023).23
  • Median age 35.3; nearly a quarter of residents, 23.4%, are between 25 and 34.4
  • Smartphones in 94.7% of households.5
  • "300 days of sunshine," in Visit Denver's words, and a Capitol step that sits at exactly 5,280 feet.6
  • A normal snow season of 49.0 inches at the official city gauge.7

Why should a Denver small business post every single week?

Denver shops for everything on a phone, and it makes that choice again every week. The city counts 740,613 people, and 94.7% of its 335,428 households carry a smartphone.15 The typical Denverite is 35.3, and 56.5% of residents 25 and older finished at least a bachelor's degree.48 They pick brunch from Instagram and a dentist from Maps. A feed that stopped in August reads like a shop that closed in August.

Competition is thick and mostly small. Of 27,422 business locations in Denver County, 15,794, roughly 57.6%, have a staff of four or fewer (our arithmetic).9 Add 82,908 businesses without a single employee.3 Most are run by an owner who also keeps the books, so a consistent feed stands out.

The local calendar keeps handing out openings. The 121st National Western Stock Show is set for January 9 to 24, 2027, and Visit Denver puts its yearly crowd at more than 660,000 guests.1011 Between November 20 and Christmas Day, Denver also gets the Christkindlmarket, the Parade of Lights and a holiday Broncos game.121314 Presly has your posts up before each one starts.

How much does a social media manager cost in Denver?

Hiring that skill locally runs into five figures. Presly runs $39 to $159 a month. The Bureau of Labor Statistics doesn't publish a separate "social media manager" title. Its nearest group covers marketing specialists along with market research analysts, and in the Denver-Aurora-Centennial metro that group's May 2025 median was $99,040 a year, or $47.62 an hour.15 PR specialists in the metro had a median of $82,930.15

Lined up against Presly (our arithmetic):

  • The $99,040 median equals about $8,253 per month, before benefits or employer taxes.
  • One Saturday-morning block of four specialist hours, about $190, already tops a month of Pro.
  • Starter's $39 equals roughly 49 minutes of median specialist time.
  • Twelve months of Growth add up to $948, less than 1% of one median salary.

Agencies quote their own retainers if you want a human team. For one Denver storefront, Presly covers posts, visuals, drafted replies and booking requests for less than half a day of local marketing wages.

What is the best social media app for a Denver small business?

We recommend Presly. Here's why it suits Denver:

  • It handles the weather swings. Seasonal themes follow the publish month, and a scheduled post takes seconds to change when a March storm or a 60-degree January afternoon rearranges your day.
  • It feeds your Google listing. Google Business Profile is one of the 10 platforms, which counts when a Capitol Hill renter types "tacos open now" on the way home.
  • It can run in Spanish or Vietnamese. Denver has 113,413 Spanish speakers age 5 and older and 4,472 Vietnamese speakers.16
  • It turns a post into a booking request. On Growth and Pro, a Tuesday post can end in a Friday appointment request, and every new review sits in the Inbox with a reply already drafted.

Should a Denver restaurant or salon hire an agency or use an app?

For most owner-run Denver businesses, an app is the better buy. An agency adds a retainer and a learning curve. Doing it yourself eats your nights off. Presly sits in the middle. Posts arrive finished and scheduled, and messages and booking requests live in the same app.

What does Presly do for a Denver shop week after week?

It writes the plan, then keeps writing it. You answer a few questions: what you sell, who comes in, which networks you use and the hours you like to post. Presly drafts every caption, chooses hashtags, adds a picture and lines everything up on your calendar. Autopilot is on from day one. You can review and edit your posts before they go out, or let it run.

The season changes on schedule. A post's seasonal angle depends on the month it goes out, so November talks about holiday hours and June talks about patios. For something only Denver has, like a Stock Show weekend or a Broncos home Sunday, enter it as a topic and Presly builds posts around it.

Real photos welcome. Snap the smothered burrito, the fresh fade or the finished bathroom remodel, or let Presly make the image. Posts you write yourself don't touch your credits.

Bookings that land as requests. Growth and Pro bring online booking. Service businesses get appointment requests; restaurants get table requests showing date, time and headcount. Accept each one, or turn on auto-confirm. Customers get a reminder the day before, and you can also switch on a two-hour reminder for slick-road mornings.

A drafted answer for every review. With Growth or Pro, Instagram comments, Facebook messages and Google reviews flow into one Inbox, and each has a suggested reply waiting. Tweak a line and hit send.

It can pay for itself fast. Win one more balayage, one more table of four or one more furnace call a month, and Starter at $39 has probably covered itself.

What could a Denver business post this winter?

Two sample posts for business types found all over Denver. We made both up. Neither describes a real business or customer.

Sample 1: green chile restaurant, Instagram

Example postInstagram

Example post for a green chile restaurant in Denver

The 9NEWS Parade of Lights rolls through downtown on Saturday, Dec 5, and Denver gets cold fast once the sun goes down. Before you stake out a curb spot, come thaw out with a bowl of our pork green chile, or get a breakfast burrito smothered in it, Christmas style with red on the side. We open the kitchen at 3 on parade day. Save a table before the floats: link in bio. #DenverGreenChile #ParadeOfLights #DenverEats #MileHighHolidays
Example post image: A deep bowl of pork green chile with roasted green chiles and a stack of warm flour tortillas beside a plate holding a burrito smothered in green and red chile, on a dark wooden table by a window with soft out-of-focus holiday lights outside, steam rising, no people.

Why it works: the Downtown Denver Partnership lists the 52nd annual 9NEWS Parade of Lights for Saturday, December 5, 2026.13 At Denver International Airport the normal December low is 18.4°F, which makes a hot bowl an easy pitch.17 Visit Denver notes that asking locals for the best green chile will "spark a spirited debate," and 840 full-service restaurants in Denver County are chasing the same parade crowd.189

Sample 2: car wash, Facebook

Example postFacebook

Example post for a car wash in Denver

January in Denver means snow one day and a sunny 45 the next. Main streets get Ice Slicer, a deicer the city says is more than 90% chloride salts, and a lot of it ends up under your car. Our underbody rinse and warm-water wash clear that crust off before it sits all month. Driving out to the National Western Stock Show between Jan 9 and 24? Show up looking sharp. Grab a wash time: link in bio. #DenverCarWash #StockShow #MileHighCity #DenverWinter
Example post image: A dark blue pickup truck glistening under warm wash-bay lights, rinse water spraying across the lower doors and wheels, bright blue winter sky and a little melting snow visible through the open bay door, no people.

Why it works: Denver's transportation department spreads Ice Slicer on main streets and uses liquid magnesium chloride downtown.19 The official site averages 6.4 inches of January snow, yet the airport's normal January high is 44.6°F, so clean-up days follow most storms.717 The Stock Show runs January 9 to 24, 2027.10 With just 27 car washes in Denver County, 15 of them staffed by fewer than five people, a regular Facebook presence stands out.9

How should a Denver business plan around the Stock Show, Broncos games and the holiday market?

Treat each big moment as a short run: a heads-up, a day-of post and a follow-up. Denver's crowds come on a known schedule. The Stock Show covers sixteen days of January, the Christkindlmarket lasts more than a month, and the Broncos publish all eight home dates in advance.101214

Here's a rhythm we like:

  1. Most of a week ahead: hours, the special and an order or booking link, aimed at people driving in from Aurora, Lakewood or out of state.
  2. The day itself: a fresh photo plus one clear hook, such as "kitchen open late after the parade" or "two blocks from the stadium and warm inside."
  3. A couple of days later: thanks to the regulars who braved the crowds, a recap picture and a calm-week offer for locals who stayed home.

Add the event to Presly as a topic and it drafts all three. The same pattern, scaled down, fits a RiNo First Friday or a LoDo Rockies homestand.2021

Denver's year at a glance: what happens each month?

Every date here was checked in October 2026 against the organizer, Visit Denver, the City of Denver or a local newsroom. Holidays follow the Colorado Division of Human Resources 2026 schedule and the Denver Public Schools 2026-27 calendar.2223 Where 2027 details aren't out yet, we say what happened in 2026.

January. The year opens on a Friday, and DPS classes resume Tuesday, January 5, following a January 4 planning day.23 Stock Show runs January 9 to 24, while the Broncos wrap up the regular season at home against the Chargers on January 9 or 10.1014 DPS observes Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 18.23 Post idea: "Stock Show hours and a ranch-hand breakfast."

February. Schools close for Presidents' Day on February 15 and for a planning day on February 26.23 A normal February brings 7.6 inches of snow.7 Post idea: a Valentine's dinner with a snowstorm rain check.

March. Denver Restaurant Week filled March 6 to 15 in 2026, a ten-day run listed by the Colorado Restaurant Association; look for the 2027 dates in winter.24 The St. Patrick's Day Parade, downtown since 1962, falls on March 13, 2027.25 At 8.8 inches, March is the snowiest month on record, and DPS spring break covers March 29 to April 2, with César Chávez Day on the 31st.723 Post idea: "Restaurant Week menu is up. Reserve before the next storm."

April. The Rockies have penciled in their 2027 Coors Field opener for April 1 against the Dodgers, though baseball's labor deal expires December 1, 2026, so the date could move.26 DPS holds a planning day April 30.23 Post idea: "Opening Day in LoDo? Pregame plates from 11."

May. Visit Denver lists the Cinco de Mayo "Celebrate Culture" Festival at Civic Center Park for May 1 and 2, 2027, expecting more than 400,000 people.27 May is the airport's wettest month at 2.16 inches, and Memorial Day lands May 31.1723 Post idea: a festival weekend combo, posted in Spanish if that is your crowd.

June. The DPS year ends June 4, 2027.23 Juneteenth, June 19, is a state holiday that DPS observes June 18.2223 Welton Street in Five Points hosts the Juneteenth Music Festival, whose 15th edition was in 2026; 2027 dates are not announced yet.28 In 2026, PrideFest became a one-day festival on June 28 along 16th Street, following a parade on 17th Avenue.29 Post idea: weekend hours and a patio shot as highs reach 83.4°F.17

July. The Cherry Creek Arts Festival has set July 2 to 4, 2027, with 260 artists along 2nd Avenue.30 Normal highs peak at 89.9°F, with about 18.8 days at 90°F or more.17 Post idea: "Art walk first, iced horchata after."

August. DPS kindergarten through 12th grade began August 24, 2026.23 The normal high is still 87.5°F.17 Post idea: first-week haircuts and quick lunch specials for parents.

September. Labor Day was September 7, 2026; the Broncos opened at home September 20 against Jacksonville and hosted the Rams a week later.2214 Post idea: a standing game-day special for every home Sunday.

October. Colorado observed Frances Xavier Cabrini Day on October 5, 2026.22 The Great American Beer Festival went outdoors to Levitt Pavilion on October 10 and 11, and the Broncos played Seattle at home on Thursday, October 15.3114 DPS has a planning day October 30.23 Post idea: "The fall beer list just went up."

November. Kansas City visits on November 1 and Las Vegas on November 22.14 Veterans Day is November 11 and Thanksgiving November 26, and DPS students are out November 23 to 27.2223 The Christkindlmarket opens November 20 on the Tivoli Quad at the Auraria Campus.12 Post idea: a market-day lunch and a gift card nudge.

December. Parade of Lights night is Saturday, December 5, and Miami comes to town December 6.1314 The Christkindlmarket stays open through December 23, starting at 11 a.m. every day of its last week, December 17 to 23.12 DPS winter break starts December 21, and the Broncos host Buffalo on Christmas Day, a Friday, at 2:30 p.m.2314 Post idea: holiday hours, a Christmas game-day spread and last-call gift cards.

How does Denver weather change what you should post?

Plan for sunny days, short snow bursts and big swings. Normals for 1991 to 2020 at Denver International Airport lay it out.17

  • Cold nights, mild afternoons: the normal high is 44.0°F in December and 44.6°F in January, while lows sink to about 18°F. Freezing nights number 156.3 a year, yet only 22.3 days stay at or below 32°F all day.17 Push warm dishes, indoor services and "roads are clear, come on in" updates.
  • Late snow: the official gauge averages 49.0 inches a season, and March, with 8.8 inches, beats both December and January.7 Keep a snow-closure post handy into April.
  • Dry summer heat: July's normal high is 89.9°F, and 46.2 days a year reach 90°F or more.17 Patios, rooftops, cold drinks and AC service belong here.
  • Little rain overall: a normal year brings just 14.48 inches of precipitation, peaking at 2.16 in May.17 Visit Denver bills the city as having "300 days of sunshine."6

Since Presly picks seasonal themes by the publish month, a rooftop post won't land in February. On a storm day, open that day's post, change one sentence and update your special hours on Google.32

Should a Denver business post in Spanish or Vietnamese?

Write in whatever language your best customers speak to each other. Of Denver residents 5 and older, 23.9% use a language other than English at home, and Spanish is the biggest at 16.7%, or 113,413 people.8 Among those Spanish speakers, 41,436 rate their English below "very well," and 28.0% of the whole city identifies as Hispanic or Latino.84

Vietnamese stands out too. Of 4,472 Vietnamese speakers in Denver, 2,490, about 55.7%, rate their English below "very well" (our arithmetic).16 Visit Denver describes Little Saigon on Federal Boulevard, between Mississippi and Alameda avenues, as full of Asian markets and Vietnamese restaurants.33 Smaller groups include 4,073 Chinese speakers, 2,924 Arabic speakers and 4,532 speakers of Russian, Polish or other Slavic languages.16 Overall, 14.5% of Denverites are foreign-born.8

Setting it up. Presly runs one posting language per business. A Barnum taquería could post entirely in Spanish, and a Little Saigon pho kitchen could post in Vietnamese. A Cherry Creek orthodontist might keep English and drop a Spanish sentence into new-patient posts while reviewing the week. Polish, Arabic, Korean and Simplified Chinese are available as well.

Which Denver neighborhoods should your posts name?

Name the district and the street. Denverites root for both. Visit Denver's neighborhood guide shows how distinct each area is.34

  • RiNo: former warehouses now holding "jazz bars, restaurants, brewpubs, art galleries and working studios," plus murals on almost every block.20 Tap releases and gallery-night deals fit.
  • LoDo: a 25-block historic district that started as warehouses and now holds Union Station, Larimer Square and Coors Field.21 Pregame plates and shopping-break posts work.
  • Highlands: Victorian homes, LoHi's blend of old and new architecture and Tennyson Street's "thriving small businesses."35 Brunch, boutiques and salons shine.
  • Cherry Creek: five minutes from downtown, with more than 300 stores and 75 cafes and restaurants.36 Gift guides and new-arrival posts suit it.

Which Denver businesses get the most from Presly?

This is our read of Denver County's 2023 County Business Patterns, not a promise of results.9

  1. Food and drink: 2,319 eating and drinking places, 840 of them full-service restaurants and 725 limited-service, alongside 283 coffee and snack bars, 242 bars, 53 mobile food vendors and 42 breweries. No category in the city is busier.
  2. Beauty and grooming: 383 beauty salons, 126 nail salons, 34 barbershops and 141 day spas and other personal care shops, all businesses where photos and quick rebooking drive repeat visits.
  3. Health practices: 370 dental offices, 122 chiropractors and 119 therapy offices for physical, occupational and speech care. Steady, useful posts plus a booking link make choosing you simpler.
  4. Home trades: 1,049 specialty trade contractors, among them 159 plumbing and HVAC firms and 103 roofers, plus 270 residential remodelers and 163 landscapers. The first hard freeze and the first hot week both set phones ringing.
  5. Fitness and auto: 184 fitness and recreation centers chasing January resolutions, and 236 auto repair shops and 27 car washes that live by the snow forecast.

Wednesday announces two open chairs for Thursday evening with the booking link. Friday offers a tip on winter cuticle care in Denver's dry air. By Sunday, on Growth or Pro, a draft thank-you waits in the Inbox for every new Google review.

How often should a Denver small business post?

Hold a steady baseline, then add a few posts for the big weeks. No network publishes an official number. For Denver we suggest three or four Instagram and Facebook posts weekly and a Google Business Profile update every week. Google moves profile posts into an archive once they are six months old, unless the post has a date range, so a spring update does nothing for a January searcher.40 Layer in one or two extras for Stock Show, Broncos home dates and the stretch from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

Can Denver customers book from my Instagram bio?

Yes, on Growth or Pro. Presly gives your booking page a link of its own. Put it in your Instagram bio, finish a caption with it and add it to your Google Business Profile's booking links; Google accepts as many as 10 per category and lets you flag a favorite as "Business preferred."41 Customers pick a time and submit a request, which you accept, or you can turn on auto-confirm. Presly then sends a reminder the day before, and you can add one two hours ahead if you like. Restaurants see table requests with date, time and party size.

How does a Denver business climb higher on Google Maps?

Keep your Google profile complete and current, and answer your reviewers. Google's support pages suggest:

  • Local ranking rests on relevance, distance and prominence. Accurate, complete information helps, and Google says no one can pay it for a better local spot.42
  • Profiles can publish updates, offers and events, and a post can carry a button such as Book or Order online.40 Presly can supply a new one each week.
  • Answering reviews tells people you are paying attention, and Google provides a shareable link for requesting new ones.43
  • Set special hours for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and snow closures so nobody drives to a dark storefront.32
  • Photos should be JPG or PNG, from 10 KB up to 5 MB, and Google suggests 720 pixels square.44
  • Use the name on your storefront and signage, without stuffing in keywords or neighborhood names.45

What is the best social media tool for a Denver small business?

We recommend Presly. It drafts, illustrates and schedules posts for 10 platforms, and its Growth and Pro plans bring an Inbox with reply drafts and online booking.

Should a Denver restaurant or salon hire an agency or use an app?

An app suits most independent Denver shops. Presly delivers a scheduled week of finished posts for $39 to $159 a month, with no retainer to sign.

How often should a Denver business post?

Our rule of thumb: three or four Instagram and Facebook posts a week, a weekly Google Business Profile update, and a few extras around Stock Show week, Broncos home games and December.

What should a Denver business post when it snows?

Your real hours, something warm and a reason to visit once the sun is back. Edit that day's scheduled post, and set special hours on Google if you close.

Can Presly post in Spanish or Vietnamese?

Yes. Each business picks one posting language, Spanish and Vietnamese included, and Presly writes all of its captions in that language.

Can Denver customers book from my Instagram bio?

Yes, on Growth and Pro. Customers send a request from your booking link, you accept it or turn on auto-confirm, and Presly sends a reminder the day before.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The first 7 days on every plan are free. You add a card when you sign up.

Will Presly know about the Stock Show and Broncos games?

Holidays and seasons are built in. Enter Denver events as topics and Presly writes posts for them; confirm each year's dates with the organizer.

What should I do when a snowstorm closes the shop?

Open that day's scheduled post, change the line about your hours, and update your special hours on Google so Maps reflects it.32

Can Presly write my posts in Spanish?

Yes. Choose Spanish as the posting language and every caption is written in Spanish. Vietnamese, Arabic and Korean work the same way.

Can I use my own photos?

Yes. Upload your own, let Presly create AI images, or combine the two.

Is Presly cheaper than hiring a marketer in Denver?

By a lot. The median marketing specialist in the metro earns $47.62 per hour, and Presly costs $39 to $159 per month.15

Can I test it before paying?
