What happens to your scheduled posts when you cancel Presly
If you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and your scheduled posts keep publishing through that date. Nothing is deleted the moment you cancel.

What should you know before canceling?
Canceling and deleting are different actions. Canceling prevents the next renewal while preserving access through the period already paid for; it does not delete your organization, content, brand kit, or published social posts.
Before you confirm, note the paid-through date, the billing platform, and which scheduled posts fall after that date. A cancellation is easiest to reason about when you know which company controls the charge: Presly for a web purchase, Apple for an App Store purchase, or Google for a Google Play purchase.
If your objective is simply to stop one destination, disconnect that account instead of canceling the whole subscription. If your objective is to pause publishing while you review content, turn off automation or move upcoming items to draft. Cancellation is the right action when you no longer want the plan to renew.
How do you cancel on the web, iPhone, or Android?
You cancel through the same billing channel where you subscribed. This matters because Apple and Google control store purchases, receipts, renewal dates, and cancellation controls; Presly cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf.
| Where you subscribed | Cancellation path | Who controls the renewal |
|---|---|---|
| Presly on the web | Settings → Billing → Cancel; review the effective date and confirm | Presly's web billing provider |
| Apple App Store | iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Presly → Cancel Subscription | Apple |
| Google Play | Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Presly → Cancel subscription |
On the web, sign in to the workspace owner account, open Billing, choose Cancel, and read the paid-through date before confirming. If the button is unavailable, first verify that you are the billing owner and that the subscription was not purchased through a mobile store.
On iPhone, Apple may omit the Cancel button when the subscription is already canceled or expired. On Android, use the Google account that made the purchase; changing Google accounts can make the subscription appear missing. Deleting the mobile app does not cancel either store subscription.
What happens to every content state?
Published work stays published, while unpublished work remains in Presly and stops advancing after entitlement ends. The content state at lapse determines what you need to do if you return.
| Content state | During paid period | After access ends | If you return |
|---|---|---|---|
| Draft | Remains editable | Remains a draft | Open, edit, and schedule it when ready |
| Pending review | Remains available for review | Does not publish; treat it as work still requiring approval | Review it again before scheduling |
| Scheduled | Publishes while entitlement is active | Parks as a draft; it is not deleted and does not fire late | Returns to its schedule when the preserved time is still in the future; otherwise remains a draft |
| Published | Remains live on the destination | Still remains live | Manage it on the social network; cancellation does not remove it |
A draft is not a failed post. It is an unpublished record that preserves the caption, media, and business context for later review. Parking scheduled posts is a safety choice: it prevents a backlog from publishing all at once after billing or connection status changes.
Content already sent to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or another destination is governed by that network once published. Disconnecting or canceling the scheduler does not retroactively delete it.
What is the exact cancellation timeline?
- 1. You cancel. Nothing changes that day. You keep every feature you paid for.
- 2. Your paid period ends. Publishing pauses at the end of your paid access.
- 3. Your content stays ready. Your remaining scheduled posts are saved as drafts for future review. Your connected accounts are deactivated on our side, and we retain the connection for 30 days so a return is seamless.
- 4. Your content stays. Posts, captions, images, and your brand kit are not deleted.
Which three questions do customers ask most?
Will a post go out after I cancel?
Posts continue inside your paid period. When paid access ends, queued posts are saved as drafts.
Do I lose the posts Presly already wrote?
No. They become drafts you can still read, edit, or copy elsewhere.
Do I have to reconnect Facebook and Instagram if I come back?
Not within 30 days — connections restore automatically. After 30 days, you reconnect.
What happens to posts already published?
Anything already live on your Facebook, Instagram, or Google Business Profile stays there. It is your Page's content. Cancelling Presly does not remove it, and we could not remove it if we wanted to — we lose access the moment you disconnect.
What billing edge cases matter?
A trial cancellation and a paid-plan cancellation both prevent a future charge, but their remaining access differs. Cancel during the 7-day trial and no day-eight plan charge occurs; cancel a paid plan and access continues through the paid billing period shown in Billing.
Monthly and annual plans follow the same basic rule: cancellation stops the next renewal, not the period already purchased. A plan bought through Apple or Google follows that store's billing record and cancellation confirmation. Save the store confirmation email if the status is unclear.
Refund eligibility is a separate question from cancellation. Read Presly's refund policy for the governing terms rather than assuming that canceling automatically reverses an earlier charge. For an App Store or Google Play transaction, the store may also control the refund request process.
How do you take your content with you?
Review and copy any material you want in another workflow before the paid period ends. Presly preserves your content on lapse, but another scheduler cannot automatically understand Presly's internal drafts, approvals, media relationships, or brand context.
Start with the calendar: identify future posts, open each item, and save the caption, destination, media, and intended date in your own document or the import format accepted by the next tool. Download owner-supplied media from its original source when possible so you retain the highest-quality file and its usage permission.
Record operational details that are easy to forget: account handles, time zones, approval owners, recurring themes, offer end dates, and which posts require a real photo or customer consent. Do not copy AI-generated drafts into a new system without another factual review; moving the text does not validate it.
How does reactivation work?
Reactivate by choosing a plan again in Billing and confirming an active payment method. If you return within 30 days, social connections restore automatically; after 30 days, reconnect each account through the network's authorization flow.
Your captions, images, drafts, and brand kit remain available because lapse does not delete them. On reactivation, parked posts whose preserved publish time is still in the future return to that schedule. Posts whose time has passed remain drafts, so review the facts and choose a new future date before scheduling.
This manual rescheduling step is intentional until the lifecycle restoration work is shipped and verified. It prevents an expired queue from waking up and publishing a burst of old posts. A post about a weekend special, appointment opening, weather event, or holiday can become wrong even when its caption was accurate when first drafted.
How do other social schedulers handle cancellation?
Vendors differ most after the paid period ends: some downgrade to a free tier, some lock channels or posts above limits, and some deactivate workflows. The vendor's own cancellation page is the right source because third-party summaries often flatten these important differences.
| Vendor | Documented behavior | What a buyer should notice |
|---|---|---|
| Buffer | Paid access remains until period end; the account moves to Free and channels above the limit may lock | Canceling a plan is separate from permanently deleting the account |
| Presly | Publishing through paid access; scheduled posts are then saved as drafts; content remains and connections are retained for 30 days | Returning within 30 days restores connections; future-dated posts return to their schedule and elapsed posts remain drafts |
No policy is universally better for every buyer. A free-tier downgrade can be useful, while a clear stop-and-draft rule can be safer for time-sensitive local-business content. Evaluate what happens to future posts, connected channels, media, reports, and account deletion separately.
What should the workspace owner check before the paid period ends?
First, confirm the cancellation status and effective date inside the billing channel that issued the subscription. Save the confirmation, identify any invoice needed for bookkeeping, and make sure another employee is not expecting the plan to renew.
Second, review the calendar through at least the end of the paid period. Update time-sensitive offers, copy captions or media the business needs elsewhere, and note which future items will need a new date. Check every connected destination rather than only the busiest one.
Third, preserve operational ownership. Record who controls the social accounts, billing login, recovery email, two-factor authentication, original media, and customer permissions. Cancellation is a poor time to discover that a former employee is the only person who can reconnect a Page.
Finally, tell collaborators what changes. A reviewer should know when approval access ends; a photographer should know where originals live; and the person monitoring comments should not assume the unified inbox remains active. These steps do not change the cancellation policy, but they make the transition predictable.
Common questions, answered
What happens to my scheduled posts if I cancel?
They publish through the paid period. When access ends, unpublished scheduled posts are saved as drafts.
Do scheduled posts get deleted if I cancel?
No. They become drafts and remain available to read, edit, copy, or schedule again.
Can I cancel a social media scheduler and keep my posts?
Yes in Presly: drafts and content remain in the account, while posts already published remain on their destination networks.
Will a post go out after I cancel?
Posts continue during your paid period. When access ends, queued posts are saved as drafts.
Does canceling Presly delete my Facebook posts?
No. Published Facebook posts stay on the Page and must be managed there.
Can I keep using Presly until my billing date?
Yes. Web cancellation stops the next renewal and leaves paid features active through the period already purchased.
How do I cancel Presly on iPhone?
Cancel in Apple subscriptions when the purchase was made through the App Store; Presly cannot cancel Apple's subscription for you.
How do I cancel Presly on Android?
Use Google Play's Subscriptions screen while signed into the Google account that made the purchase.
Do I have to reconnect Facebook and Instagram if I come back?
Not when you return within 30 days. After that connection-retention window, reconnect through each network.
Will my old schedule restart when I reactivate?
Only future times restart. A parked post returns to its preserved schedule when that time is still ahead; elapsed posts remain drafts so a backlog cannot publish unexpectedly.
